2# Application: Naari
I can’t wait to tell you about this journey that is connected with this application, so many up’s and downs.
College Hackathon: Hack4Good
It all started with a Hackathon that we decided to participate in just to test the newly fresh skills that we took up from those courses fad which was happening during the starting lockdown. Everyone was getting enrolled in x and y courses, and so did we.
We were given problem statements to pick from and exactly 48 hours to solve them, we were going through the statements and really loved this one, so we decided to pick it. It was called “Women Safety Application”.
Some mock-ups and sketches the old way, here are they
45 hours later, we did our best and came up with this.
It was good with the front-end and was lacking something in the back-end. So, we decided we will improve it and will publish it soon. But, that soon took longer than we expected. Months later,
College Major-Project
Time flies by, are you realize you are already in your last year of college, now to leave the sad part aside. We had to give our project ideas for college major projects.
We used to be in meetings with our mentors and college professors just to discuss this and what domain it should be. We already had an idea on our mind, inspired by our web project for the canteen facility on our campus.
For some reason, we couldn't go with it, and then we had a backup option: Naari, to note down what we lacked previously, come up with new ideas, and implement them.
Everyone else in the classroom also had some cool ideas, like making x with y technology and z detection system using x-z technologies.
We noted down what we were really lacking and then studied about it, read many research papers, tested other’s applications, what do they have, and what not they have. Is it paid or is it free? And months later, we came up with this.
This time we were really happy with the back-end, it was all working fine and flawless but something was missing out in the front-end and the overall design of the application. We submitted this for our college major project and we and everyone liked it, and we were happy about it. But then again, something was missing in the front-end now.
Post-College
After our college, we decided it was time to take up this and re-wamp it again. But, this time to work on it completely from both ends.
We started playing around with Adobe XD for our new design and here are some screenshots coming right from Adobe XD and Android Studio
We were happy with the outcome, and now it was time to publish it and bring it forward to everyone to make use of the purpose for which it was created. So, a moment of truth guys. Here it is
